Abstract
This paper is an attempt to introduce the science of Geoinformatics in schools. The rapid development of science and technology leads us to an imperative need to integrate all this knowledge not only into schools but also into our everyday lives. Through this article an initial approach to the definition of Geoinformatics will be made and how it can be integrated into secondary education. It will analyze the educational process that should be followed in order to familiarize students with the space, and map them. Then there will be a little reference to how Geoinformatics has been integrated into the educational process in schools in Europe. A proposal will be made on the use of Geoinformatics and the use of Geographic Information Systems in Greek schools.
