Abstract

The introduction of ICT (information and communication technology) systems in the Universities’ educational and organizational structures is one of the vital elements of their modern evolution. This research examines 44 critical success factors in the design, implementation and use of information systems in the Greek Academic Institutions using a questionnaire. The questionnaire was built by grouping 229 factors described in the relevant academic literature, part of which examines the successful implementation of Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects. The survey took place in all the Greek Academic Institutions and Research Bodies using the Planned Missing Data methodology. The analysis of the 1.369 participants’ sample creates a single model of understanding whereas various conclusions arise about the internal relationships of the factors. The proposed model can serve as a basis for guidelines development in the design, implementation and management of IT projects for the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs.
