Considerations and options regarding the design of public school spaces in modern Greek reality
Abstract
Architectural design, in all cases, expresses and suggests practices and behavior patterns.
The notion that prevails in designing educational spaces, is that their educational quality is determined both by the subjective considerations of their users and by the social and cultural values that are expressed through their planning.
Two built proposals will be presented and analyzed in this paper. The first represents specific views of the pedagogical and cultural quality of a school’s interior, while the second is an approach to the function of open space as a source of stimulation for the child's development.
