Abstract

This study investigates middle school student’s understanding of the concept and the characteristics of scientific models, as well as their awareness of enhancing their 21st-century learning skills after participating in a teaching intervention based on modeling activities. During the intervention students constructed and utilized models to explore wetting phenomena, while simultaneously cultivating critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires designed to assess students’ comprehension of models and their awareness of 21st-century learning skills. These questionnaires were administered both before and after the intervention. Data analysis reveals significant findings.
