Abstract

Teaching Chemistry in the first year of upper secondary education is critical for students’ understanding of fundamental scientific concepts and the development of scientific thinking. However, traditional teaching methods often fail to encourage active student engagement and the cultivation of deeper understanding. To address this challenge, many educators seek innovative approaches, such as gamification, the use of digital tools, and the integration of robotic systems. This study investigates the effectiveness of three instructional interventions incorporating these technologies, comparing them both with each other and with traditional teaching methods. The results indicate that innovative methods can enhance students’ understanding and engagement, improving their learning experience to varying degrees. The study also highlights the need for further research into their effectiveness, depending on the pedagogical and technological factors that influence their implementation.
