Abstract

In the context of the systematic support of teachers who develop Environmental Education programmes, and due to the increased needs for information and training on climate education, the Primary Education Directorates of A', C' Athens and West Attica have established a Local Networks Cooperative Initiative entitled: "Schools for Climate - Islands of Resilience and Change". The aim of the initiative is to empower the educational community through actions that promote understanding of the climate crisis, develop skills for sustainability and transition schools towards climate neutrality. By focusing on the social, environmental and economic impacts of climate change, the network encourages the transformation of students' and teachers' thinking and behaviour, using action-oriented learning as a key tool for change.
