Abstract
This paper focuses on the effect of a teaching intervention related to the absorption of light and the color of the material used and how it can assist the understanding of the respective concept by 71 students of the sixth grade. The mentioned intervention was implemented with the help of mobile smartphone light sensors and the "Phyphox" application. Data were collected using triple-level questionnaires both before and after the intervention. According to the results, the intervention had a positive impact on changing students' alternative ideas on the specific physics concept.
