Abstract
This paper describes the development and evaluation of teaching material on the lotus effect phenomenon. The purpose was to mitigate plant blindness of Primary Education students. The teaching material was addressed to 29 students of the 5th and 6th grades of an urban primary school. The results showed that the students of both grades recognized the value of plants, defined Nanoscience- Nanotechnology and explained the lotus effect on natural and artificial products by using scientific terms. However, it was shown that only 6th-grade students were able to observe plants around them spontaneously.
