Physics students' attitude towards Chemistry

Abstract

A positive attitude towards science seems to be associated with better performance in related subjects. On the other hand, it appears that students’ participation in laboratory activities improves their attitude towards science. In this study, we investigated the attitude of 63 physics students towards chemistry and the relationship of their attitude with their participation in an optional laboratory activity. The participants have a slightly positive attitude towards chemistry (50.11 is the overall average response score with 48 being the half of the range of possible responses score), while their participation in the laboratory activity does not seem to improve their attitude.
