Abstract
This study examines the effect of a teaching intervention about plant nutrition on primary school students' abilities to plan investigations and construct evidence-based arguments. For the teaching intervention applied to 50 second grade primary school students, instructional materials about plant nutrition were developed based on the “learning through practices” approach. The data were the students' responses to a questionnaire before and after the teaching intervention and to the worksheets. Data analysis revealed that the teaching intervention improved students' abilities to plan investigations and construct arguments about plant nutrition.
