Symposium D (Synopsis): Inquiry as aim and means of research and teaching in Science Education
Abstract
Inquiry lies at the heart of scientific methodology and at the same time is a powerful contemporary pedagogical approach aiming at students’ understanding of scientific knowledge and practices. Students and teachers face difficulties when engaging in inquiry and these are widely investigated by science education researchers. In the present symposium, we study aspects of inquiry as classroom research and as a teaching approach to students and teachers.
