Interdisciplinary approach of teaching physical pendulum using BBC micro:bit
Abstract
In this research, the degree of ease of use and effectiveness of the Micro:bit is investigated, during the interdisciplinary approach of teaching and introducing students to the concept of moment of inertia through the study of the physical pendulum. 25 junior high school students participated in the research, who cooperatively built a physical pendulum and through worksheets collected and processed the data of their measurements. The method followed included the use of a pre and post test questionnaire as well as a focus group discussion. The results highlight the feasibility of using the micro-controller, enhancing the learning outcomes of the interdisciplinary teaching approach as well as the motivation for participation in the educational process.
