Abstract

The project "Learning and Teaching about Climate Change", under the acronym EDU4Clima (https://edu4clima.gr), aims to promote the teaching of climate change in secondary education. It attempts to integrate in the educational process, the scientific knowledge produced by the University of Crete and the research station for atmospheric parameters measurements of the University of Crete in Finokalia, Lassithi. In this context, a Research, Innovation and Dissemination of Scientific Knowledge Hub was established in Nofalia, Lassithi, near the research station, printed and digital educational material was designed, teachers’ training was conducted, and an educational programme for students was formulated and implemented through modern educational practices. The main objective of the project is to provide teachers and students with new knowledge and skills to critically approach climate change, to reflect on the environmental issues that arise and to develop attitudes for mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
