Design, development, and evaluation of experimental activities on heat conduction in metals at Primary education

Abstract
The purpose of this study was the design, development, and evaluation of experimental activities on heat conduction in metals for 5th graders. Ultimate aim was to capture students’ learning pathways in this thematic area. The activities were implemented using teaching experiment method in 12 students. Qualitative methods were used for the analysis of the data. The results indicated that all the students were able to move from their initial view that heat is a substance and tended to give explanations closer to the scientifically accepted view.
