Abstract

Our study aims to investigate the change of opinions and the degree of understanding of preschool children concerning the concepts, phenomena, tools and applications of nanotechnology through their participation in interventional teaching using digital scenarios on the Go-Lab platform. At the same time, we wanted to see if the use of digital scenarios is feasible and easy to implement in the learning process in the context of kindergarten and how the students respond to the inquiry-based methodology. To achieve these goals, a didactic intervention was designed and implemented regarding the phenomenon of the Gecko lizard's adhesiveness, the 3 Big Ideas of nanotechnology. Using a variety of qualitative research methods, we collected data from interviews and student drawings. Our findings support the claim that students improved their understanding, and highlighted some approaches as more suitable for students of this age, like the use of visual information.
