Abstract

Critical Thinking (CT) is important for teacher education in general and Education for Sustainability in particular. The aim of this study was to investigate future teachers' CT when solving teaching problems in the “Study of the Environment” course. Nine students participated in the study, who solved four problems during the semester. The content analysis of their responses revealed eight categories, suggesting that the students activate some thinking activities when solving problems according to the holistic view of CT. However, qualitative differences and similarities among students’ thinking activities were identified.
