Studying the conceptions of the designers of science festival interactive exhibition activities

Abstract

This paper is focused on the investigation of designers’ conceptions about the designing process of an activity presented in the context of a science festival interactive exhibition (SFIE). The data was collected using the semi-structured interview technique and the final sample included 23 designers of the Athens Science Festival’s SFIE activities. According to the findings of the research, the designers of these activities can be classified into two distinct groups depending on the representation body, with each group showing in principle different characteristics regarding the design strategies, the conception and the desired results aimed at by its members.
