Abstract

Astronomy is absent from the Greek curriculum as a separate subject while Astronomy topics are only found either as supplementary material, or quotations, or as theory applications of other disciplines. This is in contradiction to the numerous applications of Astronomy in everyday life as well as the enormous public interest in Space. Therefore, it seems necessary to find ways to integrate Astronomy into school education. In this context, this paper presents the first results of the bottom-up evaluation of a pilot program which proposes the inclusion of topics of Astronomy in school through Geography. The evaluation has been conducted by educators –students of the master "Teaching and Public Understanding of Natural Sciences and Digital Technologies" of the Department of Pedagogy and Primary Education, NKUA.
