Abstract

Chemistry investigates the various chemical phenomena using a rich symbolic language, with the aim of making visible and perceptible the microcosm of Matter. Research has shown that students face difficulties to understand the connection between Macroscopic – Microscopic and Symbolic level of representations. Since the New Curricula focuses on the student-centered learning model, the multi-representational environment of CHEMNOESIS website can contribute to the goals of the New Curricula. This paper describes the development of innovative didactic scenarios using the multimedia and multirepresentational features of the CEMNOESIS for the teaching of thematic fields for the Greek Gymnasium and Lyceum.
