Abstract

The present work describes a teaching intervention involving 12 6th grade students with the aim of building a conceptual framework illustrating the difference in the length of a day between two places, on the same date, due to the Earth's tilt. The intervention was carried out with the Teaching Experiment tool. The teaching experiments were videotaped and analyzed using qualitative methods of content analysis. From the analysis emerged that the students can relate the length of the day in a place to the Earth’s tilt.
