Aspects of laboratory / experimental teaching and learning in physics education
Abstract
In recent decades, it has been emphatically emphasized that scientific literacy skills should include an understanding of scientific practices and an awareness of the broader social and human context in which science operates in order to make informed decisions. Laboratory/experimental teaching and learning in science education is one of the most important teaching tools for teachers because it provides opportunities for students to come into contact and become familiar with scientific methods through inquiry-based processes. At the same time, in addition to the expected learning benefits, it can improve students' attitudes towards science and develop high-level skills such as critical thinking and evaluation. The symposium discusses aspects of laboratory/experimental teaching and learning and the challenges faced by teachers and learners in this context.
