Abstract

The members of the working group of the Museum of Sciences and Technology (FET) belonging to the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), present their actions up to now for the re-establishment of the Museum, focusing to the progress and the perspectives of the project and noticing its scientific and technological –but also educational– pursuits which make it (also) an informal (or non-formal) Educational Center.

The primary purpose of the project is the rescue, of the old –and often unique– objects from the last two centuries. The old objects, located in a historical building (dedicated to Sciences from 1990) in the center of Athens, catalogued and located either for their static presentation in organohoses, or for reflexive experimentation on lab benches.

Concerning the prospects of the Museum, from the course / progress of the work so far and the number (already greater than 1500) of cataloged exhibits of the Museum, but also evaluating them, the FET / EKPA Museum is evolving in a "Big" and "Important" Museum internationally. At the same time, the FET / EKPA Building / Museum is emerging as an important heritage “landmark” of Athens.
