Climate Change is a current socioscientific issue often linked with the spread of controversial information and myths. Thus, it is essential for individuals to evaluate information and sources for informed decision-making and action – taking. The present study focuses on the development and implementation of teaching material designed to cultivate relevant skills in pre-service primary school teachers. Fourteen pre-service primary teachers participated in the research. Data was collected from the audio recordings of the sessions during the implementation of the material in the context of a teaching experiment. Preliminary findings highlight participants’ recognition of emotional language and the questioning of scientists as key deceptive tactics, while they also seem to evaluate source expertise based on educational background and professional experience.
