Abstract

The formation of climate-literate students depends on developing Climate Change (CC) competencies, which requires the use of modern teaching practices that encourage active student participation. Accordingly, the aim of this study is the preparation of teachers to develop CC teaching materials with a focus on fostering climate literacy. The study involved 19 pre-service primary education teachers who were introduced to key CC concepts and CC competencies. This paper will present preliminary findings from the design and development of activities by pre-service teachers aimed at cultivating CC competencies.
