Distance learning in the natural sciences in the Covid-19 era: A record of the perspective of primary school teachers
Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic, from the first moment of its appearance affected education systems across the globe. Data from the European Union and UNESCO report that 195 countries have taken measures to suspend in-person teaching at all levels, affecting approximately 1.6 billion students (UNESCO, 2021). The paper presents a research which has as a main goal to examine the practices followed by primary education teachers when teaching Natural Sciences (NSc) during the period of suspension of educational structures due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It compares the practices followed in live and distance learning and examines how the learning process was affected.
