The MONUBASIN symposium addresses research by restoration engineers, architects, geologists, restorers and conservators of stone artefacts, as well as other specialists in the decay and restoration of monuments, and by archaeologists, art historians, and scientists in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, and computer and information science.

The theme of the 11th MONUBASIN is “Exploring Material, Techniques and Information Management for Conservation, Urban Restoration and Cultural Heritage,” and refers to materials and techniques, as well as to technologies used for damage assessment, rehabilitation, and restoration in urban environments, in the direction of sustainable and long-lasting conservation. The thematology of the MONUBASIN Symposium also includes aspects of Information Management related to conservation/restoration procedures and techniques (e.g., recording, documentation, protection, and monitoring tasks), as well as the overall management of both research and cultural heritage data.
