Abstract

In the present study, vision problems are thoroughly examined, and whether supportive technology can contribute to mitigating the functionality of the blind individuals created. Initially, the basic characteristics of people with vision or blindness are analyzed. Here are the main causes of blindness as well as the necessity for using ancillary equipment or other means such as reading with the Braille system. Then, there are the difficulties the learner presents in the process of learning at all levels of knowledge, such as writing or reading. At this point, the teacher plays a crucial role in linking the learner to knowledge since it has to create a tailor-made teaching plan suitably adapted to the student's functional needs with symbolic or non-representational representations. Supportive technology that exists and is provided to blind or partially sighted students also has a decisive role. Considering that technology extends the limits of human beings and helps them integrate socially and acquire knowledge, technological solutions have been developed that enhance and help these students. Examples include GPS, magnifying glasses, special cameras, touch computers and email for blind people. All of the above are aimed at developing accessible material with the aim of improving the quality of the education provided
