ADHD and Counseling Parents
Abstract
The term "attention deficit disorder / hyperactivity disorder" refers to children and adults experiencing serious behavioral and cognitive difficulties in important areas such as interpersonal relationships, school, work, and family. Children with ADHD often Disappoint teachers, parents and classmates. Disapproved, ignored. They exert great pressure on those with whom they interact. The secondary effects of ADHD are due to the way others behave / behave in a child who often experiences rejection, emotional problems, low self-esteem, withdrawal, which can lead to behavioral disorders. Effective treatment is based on creating and maintaining a close relationship of co-operation between family and teachers. The development of the child is limited if the parents are not partners as they know their child better than anyone. Supporting and empowering parents through counseling is therefore crucial. Interventions are based on the strengths and needs of the family. With the help of counseling, parents learn through empowering new positive ways alternative ways of dealing with the problem and accessing external support such as the community
