Abstract

The purpose of this case study is to link mathematical ideas and concepts to the real world. To accomplish this goal, our analysis moves on two axes: with reference to the first, theoretical axis, the definition of "dithering" is given and its basic symptoms are reported. Particular emphasis is placed on mathematics. Also, reference is made to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) PISA (OECD) program, which aims to assess quality, equality in the provision of learning opportunities and the effectiveness of education systems over three years in more than one 70 countries through a common evaluation framework. Finally, there are the reasons why students around the world are having difficulty in math. With regard to the second, practical axis, weight is shifted to Greek reality where the way in which mathematics is taught in Greece is analyzed, and through the case of Wisdom a structured model of effective mathematical teaching is proposed: this is an integrated model of intervention Is characterized by clear objectives. Through empirical investigation, we will see how mathematics makes sense for Wisdom and how Wisdom begins to love mathematics and use it in its everyday life.
