Abstract

Hand preference is a measure of indirect measurement of functional cerebral asymmetry. Neuropsychological studies separate the left-handed into family and "pathogenic". The purpose of this research is to investigate the connection between 348 children (170 boys, 178 girls) and 8 to 12 years of age in four lessons (Language, Mathematics, Music, Visual). The results demonstrated the superiority of family non-right children in all classes other than Music. However, the difference was statistically significant only in Music, with right-handed boys excelled. The girls in the two groups did not show any significant difference in course performance. Within groups, there was a significant difference in performance between the boys and girls in the Language and the Art, with the right-handed girls being superior. Among non-right boys and girls, there was a significant difference in performance in maths, with boys exceling. Families with non-rightangles may have a dissectional location of cognitive functions. The educational system and teaching practices favor the analytical way of thinking, supported mainly by the left brain hemisphere.
