The economic crisis as a factor of change in the school unit

Abstract
The aim of the present study is 1) to analyze the school as an open social system, 2) to engage in school and environment relations, 3) to define educational change as a concept, 4) to detect the consequences of the economic crisis in school, 5) To emphasize the need to develop a change management plan, 6) to analyze the expected resistances and the causes that cause them. The findings of this study show that managing school changes can be effective and successful if the management plan first has the appropriate scientific and theoretical background that will give it the required scientific validity. In addition, the leader within the transformative and distributive leadership should 1) be well acquainted with the context in which his school operates and operates, 2) promote a culture of cooperation and change by creating the appropriate school climate and 3) Any resistances displayed. The work concludes that the leadership model that best promotes the upcoming change is holistic as it: 1) improves collaboration with the school environment, 2) transmits more easily the common vision, 3) promotes the involvement of stakeholders, 4) Promotes staff development to reduce resistance.
