Abstract
In recent years the utilization of Augmented Reality (AR) has attracted the interest of the scientific in the educational process, because combines digital information with the real world, supporting new learning experiences and providing multiple benefits in general and special education. The purpose of this study is to review the literature on research regarding the use of AR technology in students with disabilities and / or special educational needs at national and international level. The present research focuses on the benefits of AR in teaching cognitive, social and emotional skills to children with special educational needs, as well as their active involvement in educational practice. The results of the study demonstrated the positive impact of using this technology on mobilizing and understanding the diverse skills of these students and its effectiveness as an educational tool.
