Abstract

Student’s deviant behavior beset the educational community all the more and teachers’ training, which include prevention and intervention programs against school violence, has been intensified in the past years. The occurrence of divergent behavior occurs in younger children, a phenomenon that is extremely worrying for all society and not just educational institutions. The goal of this current study is to present the characteristics of the students who have deviant behavior, to define the causes and to report ways to prevent and intervene those behaviors. The writing of my study was counted on the research of books and studies on the Internet, which consisted of great samples of participants. Pilot and experimental investigations were excluded. Intervention programs which are based on behaviorism and coping models, are more effective in the first classes of the primary school. About the higher grades, the most efficient methods count on the teenagers’ involvement, the negotiation and the receiving of decisions with the consent of all the students. Prevention programs however, help the students to not express deviant behaviors, cultivating a positive and supportive mood for the students’ needs.
