Διερεύνηση Μεταγλωσσικών Δεξιοτήτων σε μαθητές υψηλών ικανοτήτων· η ανίχνευση της Μορφολογικής Επίγνωσης
Abstract
According to studies[1], the characteristics of verbally gifted children are advanced vocabulary, word conceptual precision, ability to express complex thoughts etc. (Bainbridge, 2013). In this context, we assume that these students will be able to analyze difficult morphological and semantically words that have not been taught in the past and will be able to write them correctly and more successfully than other students. We also assume that they have developed morphological analysis in early stages, without any systematically teaching. This ability is part of Morphological Awareness (MA) which is in turn part of Meta-linguistic Abilities (Carlisle, 1995). We designed an investigation test on Morphological Awareness based on the modern linguistics principles, which we pass it on to different grade levels primary school students. We found that the results were also correlated with general and specific student performance in school. The confirmation of this study could help in the enrichment of linguistic education with post-linguistic skills. The training of teachers in modern linguistic and meta-linguistic concepts and applications is a necessary prerequisite.
