Abstract
A leader is characterized as “charismatic” due to the admiration that is usually expressed to him/her. In general, leadership has to do strongly with the empowerment of the followers’ personal vision as well as with the effectiveness of their work. It is worth mentioned what Mantela said: The first leader’s duty is to shape a vision. The second one is to create a target, so that firstly the vision is going be achieved and also the whole procedure is going to be controlled by shaping effective working groups. Anyone who becomes a leader has to know the final target. The leader needs to make clear the vision to the followers and then begin the appropriate procedures to complete it. At the Special Education field, the consequences of the job burnout seem to be very serious concerning not only the teacher him/herself but also his/her wok efficiency. It has been found that teachers who face the job burnout are usually physically and mentally tired, depressed and continually anxious and they keep themselves in distant. This syndrome tends to affect not only the educator but also the students and the whole school community. What is more, the teaching process, the teachers’ efficacy and as a result the students’ academic results are also affected. This study aims to search in the existing bibliography for the relationship between the school leader’s emotional intelligence and the existence of a supportive working environment in which the teacher is motivated, inspired and protected by the danger of facing job burnout.
