Abstract

Giftedness as a definition, interpretation and field of science has brought to light a group of children with heterogeneous personal and learning characteristics but extraordinary dynamic. The view that charismatic students are marching and succeeding without any support or backing from the state agency has been rejected and now we turn into ways and practices in which charismatic students can and should be reinforced, if they are mapped as charismatic, to maximize their potential and totally deploy it. The comparison between the policies adopted by each European country for this purpose and Greece and Greek education, is interesting, as well as what is or currently applied, beyond theory. Early identification of gifted students is becoming crucial, as well as the teacher, whose role is complex in managing them within the school context, in the educational approach and support.
