Το σύνδρομο Turner
Abstract
The paper at hand revolves around Turner Syndrome (T.S.), which is a genetic, sex-linked disorder that affects girls. It is associated with a number of special features of typical appearance and health problems in the heart, thyroid gland, genital and urinary system, bones, mental development as well as visual and hearing disorders. This syndrome is due to the lack or incomplete form of one of the last two X sex chromosomes that are naturally found in females. The diagnosis of T.S. can be carried out at at any age during childhood, but early diagnosis is advisable because timely information and appropriate collaboration with specialists lead us to a better and more effective intervention. Clearly, there is no cure for it, since it is, as mentioned above, a genetic disorder. However, several ways have been discovered, such as medical-technical interventions and the administration of supplementary substances, in order to improve the situation of women with T.S.. Also, in this paper we will analyze all those conditions and specifications that have been assessed as suitable for their effective education.
The purpose of the present paper is to disclose everything that the general public needs to know about this syndrome. The ultimate goal is to discuss, through bibliographic references, the ways and applications that are best suited to improving the lives and education of people with Turner syndrome.
