Εκπαιδεύοντας νεαρούς κρατούμενους: Ψυχοεκπαιδευτικές παρεμβάσεις στα πλαίσια της κατάρτισης σε ένα ειδικό κατάστημα κράτησης νέων.
Abstract
Education and training in the peculiar prison system is an important and evolving field of education. According to the Council of Europe directives, legislators and states have an obligation to ensure the right of prisoners to education on the one hand as a human right and on the other hand as an investment that has direct implications for society. This qualitative research deals with the psycho-educational interventions used in the professional training of prisoners aged 18-22 in a special detention facility for young people. These interventions are characterized by a wide range and diversity and are based on different approaches of Psychology and Pedagogy, drawing techniques from Person-centered and Cognitive-Behavioral Approach to Psychodynamic and Narrative Approaches, Art Therapy and Critical Pedagogy. Its purpose is to highlight the interventions used in the training that are related to the development of individuals and relationships, problem solving, crisis support, conflict management and emotions, as well as the creation of a climate of trust and stability. The subjective finding seems to be that the psycho-educational interventions, although not a panacea, are necessary in the prison area and concern not only the prison population but the whole institution as they complete other therapeutic methods, help learning, improve the relationships between young detainees and contribute to preparing for reintegration.
