Οι ψυχοκοινωνικες επιπτωσεις της αναπηριας στην οικογενεια και ο ρολος της συμβουλευτικης
Abstract
This paper explores how parents manage the psychosocial implications of having a child with disabilities in the family and whether their advisory support is needed. In particular, it is a bibliographic review focusing on the crucial role of the family, the specialist educator, as well as family counseling in the education of children with disabilities. It outlines all the psychological and social implications of the parents, as well as the necessity of counseling and development of emotional intelligence in children. This creates a network of co-operation between teachers and the child's family with multiple benefits for both the child and the family in general. According to the results of the survey, it becomes clear that parents feel alone, helpless, with feelings of hope and despair, frustration and vindication, reality and imagination, acceptance and struggle, anxiety and pessimism. At the same time, they struggle to feel normal within a society - a society that has taken steps to change, has not yet been adapted to the needs of children. Also, parent counseling aims at constantly reminding the positive characteristics of the family of the disabled child and of the child himself. Thus, through parent-parent counseling, the family remains strong, untouchable and does not lose confidence in themselves. Finally, the need for counseling skills on the part of teachers to analyze the need for effective co-operation with parents, which will lead to a new pedagogical approach and will build bridges with the ultimate goal of dedicating to the uniqueness of each child with special needs.
