Abstract
This paper examines the case of gifted pupils and how they are trained in Greece and in Europe. Gifted children have been given a variety of definitions by various scientists such as Renzulli, Gardner and Heller. Different definitions are linked to demographic characteristics, state evaluation procedures, and ultimately to the educational policy followed by a country. The aim of the research is to present the educational policies for gifted children in Greece and other European countries. In conclusion, gifted students with high competencies seem to remain within the general school, but with differentiated teaching, modifying the Education Curricula and enriching teaching material to better meet their needs.
