Abstract

Giftedness can be defined as the human force responsible for unique accomplishments. Considered as a multifactorial concept, the contemporary theories of giftedness are focused on the multi – dimensional model (Heller, 1992) and its interaction to three basic human characteristics: 1) general capabilities above average, 2) high levels of dedication to work and high levels of creativity. (Renzulli, 1986) By studying concepts associated with giftedness, such as talent, intelligence and creativity, the objective of this task is to dispel myths and focus on whether, if is an object of cultivation and learning. By studying the needs of gifted children, taking into consideration that these children do not belong to a natural population group, but a socially defined group, we can answer the above question.
