Abstract

In this essay, a general approach is made with regards to the subject of intellectual disorder, where basic definitions and concepts are being defined, the causes are mentioned, as well as the characteristics and the division of children with intellectual disorder. Furthermore, an intensive report takes place on educational programs and methods for children with light and medium intellectual disorder. More specifically, in order to successfully tackle with the problems of children with intellectual disorders, many modifications have to be made on the analytic programs and the new approaches to the educational methods, with the same emphasis, not only to the mere school knowledge work, but also to the needs of everyday life, so that children can be evaluated depending on their abilities. The use of the appropriate educational material should be considered necessary, as well as the sensitivity and education of the teaching staff as well as the constant evaluation of the students for the measure of success of the educational programs. More specifically, during teaching the educational principles have to be applied: the personalization of teaching, of monitoring, of simplification and the systematic modification of working, of hypermathisis, of diversity and the utility of teaching in the life and the personal satisfaction of the child.
