Abstract

Over recent years the research interest concerning the phenomenon of intimidation in the workplace, referred as mobbing in English bibliography, has increased on an international level. The same is true for the phenomenon of school intimidation, known as bullying. Like all social phenomena, these two are constantly changing and reshaped throughout the years according to their own special features (qualitative and quantitative) , their frequency, intensity and forms in which they appear. Because of such behaviors of intimidating nature, schools and workplaces are turned into hostile and toxic environments which reflect an organizational culture that is based on the violation both of school and workplace rights and the unwritten code of fair behavior. This study aspires to examine the various aspects of the phenomenon as well as the relation between mobbing and bullying. Also, great emphasis will be given on how consulting can assist in the overcoming of these phenomena, as well as who are the experts that can aid this attempt and in which ways.
