Abstract

Attention Deficit Disorder and / or Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder of childhood. Children with ADHD have difficulties in controlling their behavior, which have a negative impact on both themselves and their surroundings.

The literature review examines the behavior of these children from infancy to adolescence and the behavior of children in the first type of ADHD and the third type of disorder (Combined Type), as well as their relations with peers. In addition, the behavior of children with ADHD in the school environment is analysed against their teacher and their classmates, but also within the family environment.

The findings showed that the behavior of children with ADHD from infancy to adolescence is characterised by irritability and disobedience and the behavior of children of the first type of ADHD is characterised by social passivity, whereas children of the third type by aggression and emotional instability. Their behavior is the same to the school and family environment.

In conclusion, the above behavioral problems result in dysfunctional social relations and disruption of the normal function of their classroom and their family.
