Abstract

The purpose of this review is to identify the role, the leadership skills and behaviors that a teacher leader possess. For this reason, the role of the teacher leader will be examined through their job position in an open and effective school system. Regarding the open school, the focus of the study is on the interaction of the teacher leader with the dynamic environment. Respectively, for the effective school, the role of the teacher leader is assessed, regarding how the objectives of the school are achieved. In both of these parameters, the key traits and behaviors of a teacher leader will be determined, in order the teacher to contribute dynamically to the achievement of the goals and functions of the school system. Emphasis is given to the capacities of the teacher needed for the effective conflict management in the school unit.
