Abstract

Digital storytelling concerns more and more teachers of all levels in their quest to approach school knowledge in an alternative and experiential manner. The construction of digital stories by trainees has a strong focus on group co-operation, initiative and self-activation of learners' learning processes. It combines skills necessary for the citizen of the 21st century and is considered an innovative approach as it relates to original collective or individual actions. In recent years there has been a steep rise in the digital stories of published works in Greece and internationally by teachers of the act. In this direction, the institutionalization of ICTs as an autonomous teaching subject at all levels of education has contributed substantially. In this context, this bibliographic review aims at discussing key conclusions about digital narrative, the main ones being its relevance as a teaching method that supports cross-curriculum, the multidisciplinary approach to complex themes, and the cultivation of digital literacy.
