Abstract

A basic factor in the good health of a person is proper nutrition. The balanced diet of children at school and at home, proper information from parents and teachers, and other factors contribute to the adoption of healthy eating habits that children usually follow in their later adult lives. The purpose of this research study is to investigate how the activities of pre-school teachers, through health education programs, influence the formation of children's eating habits. This research uses both quantitative and qualitative research methodology. Questionnaires were provided to 40 pre-school teachers and semi-structured interviews were conducted with the mother of a 5-year-old child and with her nursery teacher. The combination of both methods has been done to explore the issue on a multifaceted basis. The results obtained from the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the collected data are that preschool educators can contribute to the formation of nutritional behaviors in children through their various actions. In general, it is understood that teachers are quite satisfied with the nutritional Habits of infants today. Based on the results of this research study, we conclude that the kindergarten can change the eating habits and attitudes of children through the actions and the intervention programs that it implements. Also, preschool educators believe that parents' health education programs are more beneficial in shaping eating habits for children, this is because the family environment affects children more.
