Written Comprehension / Writing Program in Trinitarian Intelligent Students in Montreal, Canada
Abstract
The present study aims to study the implementation of a program to intelligent students. Our research is that students will perform better on specific parameters of their mental capacity such as combinatorial thinking and problem solving, while improving vocabulary and basic proposal structure in Greek as a second language after implementing an intervention program Which relates to the comprehension and production of written language with modern cultivation of critical competence. The pupils are trilingual pupils attending schools in the Greek community of Montreal, Canada. At school, students are taught French by 70%, Greek by 20% and English by 10%. The sample consists of thirty children, seventeen boys and thirteen girls. The children were divided into two groups: the group that was the experimental group and consisted of twenty children and the bombe which was the control group and consisted of ten children. A dossier was initially created for each student, including: the student's grades in French and Greek, the child's score in the Raven's Progressive Matrices test, two test texts examining the critical competence parameters on which the program was developed And fill-up forms for parents, students and teachers of Renzulli and Reis that relate to and describe charismatic behaviors. The program took place in ten weeks for two teaching hours per week. The material used was mainly derived from the Grimm brothers' tales, which respond to the psychological needs of children and at the same time they are bodies of cultural elements. In the end, the children made and presented their own original work as the final products of the program. Finally, the children were re-evaluated on the same parameters that were initially evaluated. The statistical analysis showed an increase in the performance of pupils in the experimental group in the parameters of the program compared to the students in the control group. At the same time, the children of the experimental group showed improved performance compared to their own performance before the program was implemented.
