Abstract

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common disorders of childhood and is usually characterized by poorly controlled, impulsive and sometimes aggressive behavior in situations where self-control is necessary. In the classroom students are asked to be focused, stay in place for a long time and be able to control their impulses. It is obvious the difficulty of a child with ADHD to adapt to such an environment without proper support. The most important difficulties faced by children with ADHD in the classroom are related to their behavioral control, but also to the difficulties in interacting with peers. For these reasons it is necessary to design and implement intervention programs that can be implemented within the classroom. The purpose of this paper is to present this developmental disorder and educational interventions, which can help to alleviate the problems created in the school unit. It also seeks to provide a detailed case study of a child with ADHD and the holistic approach followed to improve deficits in its behavior. The results showed that the behaviors targeted by the specific educational intervention that was applied developed to a satisfactory extent. They also agree with the results of research conducted mainly at international level on the implementation of intervention programs for children with ADHD and their effectiveness.
