Intervention programs for the development of self-identification of pupils with intellectual disabilities
Abstract
The education of people with intellectual disabilities to self-determination is a major issue within the special education and society. According to the current reality, students with intellectual disabilities have fewer opportunities to exercise greater control in their lives, tend to be influenced and driven to a large extent by adults, while they are distinct from not having all or some of the necessary skills , Which will help them maintain high levels of autonomy, make decisions, solve problems, etc. The purpose of this work is to present structured intervention programs As for the development of self-determination for students with intellectual disabilities. It also examines the relationship of self and people with mental disabilities, and the role, the views and perceptions of education for self-determination. The teaching of self is important for people with intellectual disabilities to become causal intermediaries in their lives.
